Canon Imageclass MF4270 – An Office Friendly Multifunction Printer

Costing just $ 300, the Canon multifunction has several office-friendly features including duplexer, networking and automatic document feeder. It lacks advanced features such as onboard scanning and fax forwarding.

Features and Design

When it comes to multifunction lasers, the Canon ImageClass MF4270 is compact. Though it has busy control panel, everything is clearly laid out. The two line text LCD is the centerpiece. Above them are fax, scan and copy buttons, permitting you to tweak settings for various tasks.

The copy features are straightforward and basic. To type the number of copies you would like to make (about 99), use numeric keypad.

The MF4270 scan feature is fully limited to use over USB connection. Also basic are the fax options. Nearly eight groups (or numbers) can be programmed to single-touch dial button on the control panel. You can even send PC faxes provided you install ImageClass software.

Performance

Compared to other monolaser multifunction printers, the Canon Image Class MF4270 performs admirably well. Texts were produced at 15.13 ppm, beating out Canon MF4690, but slower than $ 400 Lexmark X342n. It was the fastest with scans and copies and scored 5.84 ppm with color scans, 15.50 ppm using ADF and a blazing 12.19 ppm with grayscale scans.

The Canon ImageClass comes at a price range of $ 190 to $ 145.
