Today, Canon Inc announced it will be providing their latest multi-function printers to Hewlett-Packard later this year. Many might be surprised to know that Canon already supplies laser printers to HP, but this new deal will include the latest workplace printers which are multi-function machines (copy, print, & fax).
So far, the deal indicates these printers will have the Canon brand, but eventually the branding will switch to HP. The full details of this deal have not been disclosed so far.
Canon, based in Japan, expect this deal to help increase sales of office equipment in the U.S. market.
From this arrangement, HP hopes to increase their branding in the managed print business market. To date, HP handles about 2,400 managed print clients.
