How to Clean the Nozzle on Your Printer Ink Jet Cartridges

The print head is the part where the ink passes through from the cartridge onto the paper.  Some cartridges have the print head on the cartridge itself and other printers have the print head nozzle in the printer itself.

To clean the print head on the cartridge itself if very easy.

1. Remove the ink cartridge from the printer.
2. Using a small cotton swab, dip the tip of the cotton swab into alcohol.  Remove any excess alcohol from cotton swab.
3. Very gently rub the cotton swab onto the print head nozzle on the ink cartridge.
4. Repeat this process until the cotton swab does not have any ink from the cartridge.
5. Once the print head on the printer cartridge is clean and dry, replace the cartridge in the printer.  Run the cleaning cycle through your printer software.

To clean the print head in the printer is also quick and easy.

1. Remove the ink jet cartridge from the printer.
2. Using a small cotton swab, dip the tip of the cotton swab into alcohol.  Remove any excess alcohol from the cotton swab.
3. Very gently, rub the cotton swab inside the printer where the ink cartridges were removed from.
4. Repeat this process until the cotton swab does not have any ink from the cartridge
5. Once the print head in the printer is clean and dry, replace the cartridges back into the printer. Run the cleaning cycle through your printer software.
