New Epson PictureMate Charm – Compact Photo Printer

This week Epson announced a new printer in their compact photo printer series.  The new PictureMate Charm is a portable printer smaller and lighter than the previous printers in their PictureMate series.

The PictureMate Charm prints only up to 4 x 6 inch photos, but can print a photo in only 37 seconds.  The photos are dry as soon as they come out of the printer to ensure clean and smudge-free photos.  The printer uses special consumables that are compatible for any in the PictureMate series.

The printer has standard memory card slots and support for PictBridge to allow printing without the use of a computer.  The on-board controls include features such as auto photo correction that adjusts the color and light of the photos as well as red-eye correction.

We liked the feature that allows for printing a proof sheet.  There are options that allow printing different layouts, boards, or picture sizes.

The PictureMate Charm will be available on October 20th with a retail price of about $150.
