Scotland Yard detectives recently asked retailers to stop selling a specific printer because it has been found in several fraud factories over the last 18 months. The printer in questions is a top quality color laser printer that sells in England for about 750 pounds.
The printer was so good, that counterfeiters used it to make realistic EU driving licences and other versions of national identity cards.
The Metropolital Police ahve shut down at least 20 of these fraud factories in the past 18 months which have made an estiamate of 30,000 false identity cards. Most of these would have been used to cheat bank, credit card companies, or any other financial business. These false id’s also could be used for illegal immigration use.
