Lexmark will be displaying a its 2009 inkjet all-in-one (AIO) product line at this year’s Gitex Technology Week. They will feature five new AIO inkjets. These ink jets will offer new featured for consumers, the option to connect directly to the internet from the printer with touch screen technology.
At first, you might ask, “Why does my printer need to connect directly to the Internet?”
Well, Lexmark has actually taken a close look at how we use printers today to come up with solutions that can save all of us time.
First, they noticed that everyone is love with touch screens. So these new printers have touch screen controls that make printing options quick and easy. Lexmark has developed a technology they call Smart Solutions to power their touch screens. It is a web based interface allowing users to even customize the touchscreen commands. This is handy if we have a few options we use all the time… we simply make a few pre-programmed icons for quick printing. Since the interface is connected to the web, it allows users the option to upgrade applications for their printer without issues.
This feature also allows separate users to create their own customized touchscreen functions. What a way to save time for repetitive tasks!
Another thing we like is the Eco-Friendly options Lexmark has incorporated with this new technology. There is a very nice button that can put your printer automatically into Eco Mode with double sided printing saving paper.
In addition, there is an option to put your printer on an energy saving mode that Lexmark boasts will save you a full month of energy consumption per year!
