The Canon Pixma MP470 is an all inclusive inkjet printer that produces good quality prints with decent speeds, best graphics and text. Nevertheless, it has its own limitations, including inability to use flash drive with front-mounted USB port. For casual home users who need high quality prints, it’s worth the money.

The Canon Pixma MP470 has a basic printer design. It has well-organized control panel. Its buttons include task switch for memory card, scan and copy modes, two start buttons – one for color and one for black only and menu navigation buttons. The Pixma MP 470 has two tank ink system – tricolor and black. While color print costs 13.7 cents, black print comes at 5.6 cents.
The Pixma MP470 offers photo print, scan and copy features. It lacks network connectivity and fax. The main scan menu permits you to select between scanning the files to the PC, a program or PDF and attaching scans to e-mails.
Printing from memory card involves lot of options. You can step through the card files and initiate the prints manually or go through the entire card, mark those which you would like to be printed and then make the batch print. While printing, incorporate the photos which come within the specific date range.
Overall performance:
Though the Canon Pixma MP470 was slow in terms of text prints, it was quick with 4×6 photos and graphics. Its scans stayed in line with others. Texts were printed at 5.45 pages for every minute. The Canon Pixma MP470 produced color scans at 4.49 ppm, grayscale scans at 4.60 ppm and color graphic prints at 2.10 ppm, in the middle of the tight pack. This device comes at a range of $99 to $69.
